H&M Distribution Limited, one of the leading suppliers of distribution services within the UK, is offering an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join its busy Finance team.
The Assistant Accountant will play a key role in supporting the finance department by managing essential accounting processes that support business performance and compliance. This is a development role with progression opportunities and financial study support.

Responsibilities
- Weekly support of P&L production
- Group cash book postings
- Ad hoc manual invoicing
- Reconciliation of key balance sheet accounts
- Short-term cashflow forecasting and monitoring
- Handling invoice queries
- Management of company credit card processes
- Ad hoc account analysis
- Assisting with year-end audit preparation
- Learning to support all areas of the Finance function
Person Specification
- Part-qualified AAT or CIMA
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Strong IT skills, including Excel
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills
- Flexible and adaptable to change
- Flexible approach to working hours
- Genuine enthusiasm for delivering high-quality work
- Well organised with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
- Keen to develop finance skills through continuous learning
Additional Information
Salary Range: £28,000 – £32,000 per annum
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm (40 hours per week, including a 30-minute paid break per day)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Bonus: Eligibility to participate in a discretionary quarterly bonus scheme
